Suggested Curriculum for Tier 2 Physicians

These are physicians who would be expected to run an ICU team (cluster) under a staff intensivist's supervision. They are anticipated to be staff anesthesiologists or ICU subspecialty residents/fellows primarily. However, staff physicians from other acute care specialties (internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, etc.) with extensive previous (and reasonably current) experience working in ICUs could also fulfill these criteria. Senior anesthesia trainees who meet the criteria of a Tier 2 physician may also be considered.

We recognize that this group of physicians will have a broad range of previous experience and expertise. Many Tier 2 physicians may already have extensive knowledge of some of the topics below. In particular, the airway section is intended for non-anesthesiologists.
